The Last Call for Love in 2020: Wrap-Up

UAC Heroes’ “Loving is Caring” campaign – the last call for love in 2020 – is coming to a close.
Following the love bags for St. Cabrini Nursing Home and Sprain Brook Manor Rehab in Westchester County, UAC has delivered 425 holiday love bags to Cliffside Rehabilitation & Residential Health Care Center in New York City: 250 bags for staff arrived on December 22, and 175 bags for residents on December 24. Along the way, many volunteers – especially teenage volunteers – eagerly helped make the love cards and pack the bags, which moved us deeply.
At the same time, as part of this campaign, online concerts bringing holiday wishes to the seniors were under way. First, UAC teamed up with four families from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Southbury CT – the Posts, Borens, Bramhalls and Yongs – to present the first in UAC’s online concert series, “Zoom Performance for Nursing Homes”. Connected over Zoom, each family took turns showing off its talents.
UAC also recruited online and collected Christmas performance videos from 44 children in 33 families across China and the US, edited into the second concert in the series, the “UAC Holiday Gala”. The children ranged in age from 2 to 18, and their performances covered singing and dancing as well as piano, violin, flute and guzheng, giving the seniors a rich treat for eyes and ears.
We are thrilled to thank all the volunteers who took part in this campaign for their support of UAC, and special thanks to our many donors and to organizations including the Zexi Church of New Jersey, Xia Mei Dance Studio and Xinghai Art Center for their generous help. Thanks also to North American Super Moms for helping to spread the word.
We are especially grateful to the World Journal for its December 18 report on UAC, which helped more kind-hearted people learn about us and join our activities.

To close, here are UAC’s holiday wishes to all frontline healthcare workers, donors and volunteers. We welcome more volunteers to join us, and organizations to partner with us on charitable work. Visit uac-heroes.org/a/get-involved to take part.

2020 has been a turbulent year, but also an extraordinary one. As the holidays arrive, everyone at UAC wishes all frontline healthcare workers, donors and volunteers happy holidays.
2020 became more meaningful because of you. That meaning lies not in how noble our work was, but in how it let us see the connection and care between people – and a different side of ourselves.
Love truly makes us strong. In 2021, let’s keep walking together for love!
Everyone at UAC
